Library 101: Other Ways to Find Books

Search WorldCat

Search for an item in libraries near you:
WorldCat.org >>

EMU's EBooks through EBSCOhost

WorldCat

WorldCat lists holdings in libraries worldwide including EMU's holdings.

Often this is a good place to see which libraries hold a particular title if it's not available from EMU.

Access through WorldCat.org is freely available to anyone with an Internet connection.  EMU also provides access to WorldCat through FirstSearch.

The FirstSearch interface provides a link to ILLiad (EMU's interlibrary loan management system).

Google Books

Google Books provides access to both public domain and copyrighted material.

You may be able to view the full content of a book which is in the public domain.

You may only be able to view small snippets of a book which is still under copyright.
