College Writing Library Tutorial: Bibliographic Mining

Bibliographies and Reference Lists

One way to find resources on a topic is to look at the bibliography or reference list from a book or article you feel is especially relevant to your topic.

A bibliography or a reference list can be either a list of recommended sources on a particular topic or they can be sources a scholar used in his/her research.

Sometimes encyclopedias will list recommended sources on a topic which makes them a good place to begin your research.
